about us

Hey there! Welcome to our blog!

We’re Rob & Gosia, the creators of Where To Stay In Italy 101, and digital nomads with a deep-seated love for all things Italian.

Thanks to our nomadic lifestyle, we have the unique opportunity to spend as many months as we want to explore Italy, a country that feels like home, especially to Gosia, who has been visiting every summer since childhood due to family ties.

Italy, for us, is an endless discovery far beyond the well-trodden paths of Rome and Venice.

We’ve wandered through the aromatic citrus groves of Sicily, marvelled at the Alpine charm of Aosta Valley, and lost ourselves in the medieval streets of Umbria.

Join us as we guide you through the best places to stay in Italy; we share our expert tips and reveal secret locations so that you can plan the perfect Italian escapade!

Thanks for trusting us! And let’s get your trip planned and ready! ๐Ÿ›ต๐Ÿ‹๐Ÿ

ABOUT ROB

Hey folks, I’m Rob, the other half of the duo that runs Where To Stay In Italy 101. I’m from the Netherlands, and in 2021, my life took a pretty interesting turn, from running a construction business with my dad to chasing adventures across the globe.

I’ve always had this burning passion for travel, using every chance to tick off destinations from my ever-growing bucket list. And yes, being a die-hard Feyenoord fan, I’ve followed my team far and wide, which conveniently doubled as my excuse to explore new places around Europe.

My journey into the digital nomad lifestyle kicked off quite unexpectedly during a solo road trip across the Balkans. That’s where I met Gosia, and, well, the rest is history. Together, we’ve dived headfirst into the world of travel, launching several businesses that allow us to live this dream of slow travelling, soaking in every bit of freedom it offers.

I’ve got to say I have a soft spot for road trips. There’s something about hitting the open road, the sense of adventure, the freedomโ€”it’s unbeatable. And Italy? It’s the ultimate playground for someone like me. Tuscany, with its rolling hills, historic towns, and the best homemade pasta you’ll ever taste, holds a special place in my heart.

ABOUT GOSIA

Hey there! I’m Gosia, the co-creator of Where To Stay In Italy 101. My story? Well, it’s a bit of a whirlwind. Born and raised in Poland, I always had this itch to explore, to see what’s beyond the horizon.

So, at 19, I took a leap of faith and moved solo to the UK, diving headfirst into a world unknown. I graduated from Southampton University and worked as a charted accountant having a standard 9-to-5 lifestyle. But, my soul was always on the road, squeezing every bit of adventure from my 25 days of annual leave making trips all around the world.

But when the pandemic hit in 2020, life threw at me an additional challenge – a tough breakup, which had me questioning everything. That’s when I thought, “Why not?” My world was already turned upside down, so I decided it was now or never. I said goodbye to my finance gig, sold what possessions I had, and set off for Bali with nothing but a suitcase and my dreams.

That bold move was the start of my digital nomad journey, living a life on the move with my partner, Rob.

Ever since I can remember, Italy has been a second home to me. My family is from the sunny Calabria, and every year, without fail, we packed our bags and headed for the Mediterranean. Those trips etched a deep love for Italy in my heartโ€”a love I eagerly introduced to Rob.
